Mr. Peter Godfrey

Peter is the Chief Representative for the Asia-Pacific region of the UK-headquartered Energy Institute (EI), based in Singapore.

The Energy Institute represents a growing and diverse global community of energy professionals, working to accelerate the sector’s transition toward a more sustainable future. Its mission is to attract, develop, and equip the future energy workforce, inform decision-making through expert convening and evidence-based insight, and enable industry and consumers to make energy lower-carbon, safer, and more efficient.

Peter has a distinguished track record in the energy sector, having held senior positions in both upstream and downstream operations as well as in strategy and energy finance with BP and Standard Chartered Bank. He is a committed advocate for cleaner, more resilient energy systems and for integrating sustainability into core industry practices.

In recent years, his focus has been on advancing biofuels and engineered carbon sequestration. He previously served as the regional representative for UK-based CCUS and hydrogen developer Storegga before founding CarbonSync Technologies in late 2024, a Singapore-based company dedicated to forming and managing consortia for low-carbon industrial hub development projects across Southeast Asia and beyond.
