LanzaJet is a leading sustainable fuels technology company dedicated to decarbonizing the aviation industry through the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Established in 2020, the company focuses on commercializing its patented Alcohol-to-Jet (ATJ) technology, which converts ethanol into SAF. This technology was developed in collaboration with LanzaTech and the U.S. Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
In 2024, LanzaJet's first commercial ATJ SAF facility, Freedom Pines Fuels in Soperton, Georgia, became operational, producing 10 million gallons of SAF and renewable diesel annually.
The company has garnered support from investors such as Suncor, Mitsui, British Airways, Shell, Microsoft, and Breakthrough Energy. LanzaJet aims to produce 1 billion gallons of SAF annually by 2030, contributing significantly to the aviation industry's net-zero emissions goal by 2050.
