ASAFA Standard Terms for Speaking Engagements
The following terms apply to invitations for ASAFA representatives to speak at conferences, forums and other professional events.
1. Honorarium

Standard honorarium: USD 800 per day

The honorarium is inclusive meals and local transport only. See section 5 for overeas travel and accomodation.

These commercial terms apply to non-members and non-partners only. See section 10 for member exemptions
2. Definition of a “Day”
For billing purposes, a “day” is defined as any calendar day during which an ASAFA representative is engaged in event-related activities, including travel or presentation.

Same-day local presentation count as one day
-
Multi-day events requiring ASAFA attendance across consecutive days are billed at USD 800 per day
-
Short virtual briefings or reasonable preparation before the event are included in the day rate and not billed separately
Illustrative examples

1-day Singapore event
Honorarium = 1 × USD 800 = USD 800 -
2-day overseas summit with travel the day before and return the day after
Honorarium = 3 × USD 800 = USD 2400
3. Scope of ASAFA Contribution
ASAFA will provide one speaker who will:

Deliver a prepared presentation of up to 45 minutes, or
-
Participate in a panel session of up to 60 minutes including reasonable Q&A
Additional sessions or extended formats require mutual agreement.
4. Organiser Responsibilities
The organiser will provide:

Complimentary full-conference registration for the ASAFA speaker and 1 additional ASAFA employee

Standard audiovisual support
-
Final agenda, session brief and templates at least 10 business days before the event

Opportunity for ASAFA to review references to ASAFA in promotional materials

Access to event recording with reuse rights for ASAFA
5. Overseas Travel and Accommodation

All air travel and hotel accommodation for the ASAFA representative are not included in the USD 800 per day honorarium.

Hotel accommodation must be provided at the official event venue or at another directly connected venue agreed by ASAFA.
6. Recording and Reuse Rights

The organiser may record the ASAFA session
-
ASAFA may request a copy for AGM, member communications and stakeholder outreach
-
Any quotes attributed to ASAFA must be reviewed and approved in advance
-
ASAFA retains full editorial control over its slides and content
7. Cancellation
-
If the event is cancelled less than 7 days before the confirmed appearance, the full honorarium remains payable
-
For earlier cancellations, both parties will work in good faith to reschedule
8. Tax and Payment
-
The honorarium is exclusive of any applicable withholding or similar taxes
-
If local taxes apply, the organiser must gross-up the payment so ASAFA receives the full net amount
-
Payment must be made 100 percent in advance, no later than 21 days before the event date
-
An invoice will be issued upon confirmation of ASAFA’s participation
-
All bank charges and transfer fees are borne by the organiser
9. Conflicts of Interest and Transparency

The organiser must disclose event sponsors, commercial partners and relevant SAF interests
-
ASAFA may decline participation where conflicts of interest cannot be mitigated
10. Exemption for ASAFA Members and Partners
These commercial terms apply to non-members and non-partners.
ASAFA members, partners and recognised strategic partners are exempt from the daily honorarium and related conditions when participation:

Supports joint initiatives or co-branded activities

Advances policy or regulatory work
-
Forms part of co-hosted events or collaboration programs
Such engagements follow member collaboration terms rather than standard speaking fees.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Governed by the laws of Singapore
-
Any dispute will be resolved by arbitration in Singapore according to SIAC rules
-
The seat of arbitration is Singapore and the language is English
