Taiyo Oil is a Japanese energy company with its core activities being the manufacture and sales of petroleum products and petrochemical based products, including benzene and xylene. Taiyo Oil operates a refinery in Shikoku and two other operational bases (one in Yamaguchi and the other in Okinawa). There are also over 300 car service stations in Japan that provide fuel and other car services, as well as a range of eco-friendly motor oil, under Taiyo Oil’s ’SOLATO‘ brand.

Taiyo Oil is proceeding with a project to produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel at its Okinawa Operations. Taiyo Oil’s SAF production facility is planned to produce around 200,000 kl of neat SAF annually using ethanol as feedstock. In additional to supplying SAF to Japanese domestic airports, Taiyo Oil also aims to export a large portion of its SAF production outside of Japan, leveraging Okinawa's strategically strong location in the Asia region from FY 2029.
