Kun Shan SUM is a strategic leader in clean energy and sustainable infrastructure with over 18 years of experience across Asia. As the Director of Strategy at ASAFA, she is responsible for shaping the association’s strategic direction, driving SAF adoption, and fostering industry collaboration.
Before joining ASAFA, Kun Shan held senior roles in leading organizations such as Mott MacDonald, where she led the firm’s Net Zero, Sustainability, and ESG portfolio in Asia, and SunCable, where she directed sustainability and regulatory affairs for a multi-billion-dollar cross-border energy project. Her extensive experience spans decarbonization, cross-border energy projects, regulatory strategy, and ecosystem development.
A Chevening Scholar with a Master’s in Sustainable Energy Futures from Imperial College London, Kun Shan has a strong network across public and private sectors and has been a trusted advisor to senior government officials in Singapore, Australia, and beyond. Her leadership has consistently driven successful outcomes in climate strategy, regional energy connectivity, and sustainable infrastructure development.
