About the event
The ACT FOR SKY Symposium returns on 2 December 2025, uniting 49 organisations dedicated to advancing SAF adoption in Japan. Held at TIAT Sky Hall at Haneda Airport and streamed live online, the event brings together leaders from aviation, energy, technology and research to accelerate Japan’s transition toward low carbon flight.
The programme features a keynote by Kazuhiro Chiba of the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, followed by a broadcast session that broadens public outreach. Three in depth panel discussions anchor the event. The first focuses on the prospects and challenges of SAF commercialisation through 2030 and beyond, examining technology readiness, market development and near term hurdles. The second explores the role of innovation in achieving net zero by 2050, offering both operational and supply side perspectives on the SAF outlook for the 2030s. The third addresses transition costs, Scope 3 market mechanisms and financial structures needed to support widescale SAF deployment, highlighting the need for transparent and equitable approaches across the value chain.
The symposium closes with a networking reception that fosters collaboration and shared commitment to sustainable aviation. By convening airlines, energy producers, engineers, airport operators and financial institutions, ACT FOR SKY provides a platform for charting Japan’s pathway to a resilient and future ready SAF ecosystem.
