About the event
The International Conference on Green Aviation (ICGA) is an annual event co-organized by the International Association for Green Aviation (IAGA) and the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics (CSAA). It aims to gather international organizations, education and research institutes, companies, authorities and professionals together to enhance climate change awareness, to exchange frontier research in green
aviation and develop cross-border collaborations in alignment with the UN SDGs and ICAO LTAG. The official language is English. It's composed of plenary session, parallel forums, exhibition, business activities, student program as well as social networking events and
cultural tours.
The Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) Forum at ICGA 2025, co-organized by the Asia Sustainable Aviation Fuel Association (ASAFA) alongside the Civil Aviation University of China and the Second Research Institute of CAAC, is a high-level platform uniting global thought leaders to accelerate aviation’s decarbonization.
ASAFA plays a pivotal role in shaping the forum’s agenda and outcomes. As the leading independent non-profit dedicated to advancing SAF in Asia, ASAFA brings together its cross-sector expertise, industry partnerships, and policy advocacy experience to ensure that discussions move beyond theory into actionable strategies. With ASAFA’s CEO Fabrice Espinosa serving as co-chair, the forum underscores ASAFA’s influence in convening stakeholders across the SAF value chain, from feedstock providers and technology licensors to airlines, regulators, and investors.
Forum Scope and Objectives
The forum will address the three major constraints facing SAF adoption—safety, sustainability, and economics—and dive into critical enablers of scale-up, including:
Policy frameworks to support market adoption.
Feedstock innovation and diversification to meet long-term supply needs.
Technology pathways and processes to scale cost-effective SAF production.
Safety and sustainability certification standards to build trust and harmonization.
Market mechanisms, pricing, and investment models to bridge cost gaps.
Supply chain integration and logistics to ensure reliability.
By convening experts from global airlines, R&D institutions, universities, and government agencies, the forum aims to accelerate industry collaboration, catalyze R&D progress, and speed up certification and deployment of SAF.
