Our Mission: Accelerating Sustainable Aviation Fuel Adoption Through Collaboration
We were honoured to welcome over 160 guests at our 7th November 2024 official launch, representing more than 100 public and private organizations across the Asia-Pacific region. Among them were our pioneer members, Korean Air, 1PointFive, DHL, Bureau Veritas, EU-ASEAN, SkyNRG, Marquis Energy Global, GEU, and Quantum Commodity Intelligence. We were also joined by our valued partners A-STAR, General Index, the Sustainable Aviation Futures Congress, and KEY, as well as our trusted advisors.
Achieving the full potential of SAF is a challenge too vast for any single entity to tackle alone. It demands a robust ecosystem of partners, visionaries, and advocates working collaboratively across every aspect of the value chain—from production to distribution and adoption.
This is where ASAFA plays a pivotal role.
As an independent non-profit association, ASAFA was established to create a dedicated coalition focused on advancing SAF adoption in the Asia-Pacific region. Our mission extends beyond advocacy; we are committed to addressing the aviation industry’s critical concerns about the sustainability and cost of SAF, while enabling broader access to SAF across the ecosystem. Our approach is grounded in meaningful, industry-wide engagement that seeks to involve all stakeholders — airlines, airport operators, energy companies, SAF suppliers, feedstock suppliers, corporate buyers, development banks, governments and consumers alike.
Our goal is ambitious but achievable: to increase SAF usage to 5% globally in Asia by 2030. This is not about imposing mandates; it’s about fostering collaboration, innovation, and shared responsibility to ensure a sustainable future for aviation.
We invite all stakeholders who wish to have a voice in shaping this journey to join us. Together, we can create solutions that are both impactful and inclusive, ensuring no one is left behind in the transition to cleaner skies.
Thank you.
