ASAFA Partners with Da Nang Innovation Center to Advance Sustainable Aviation Fuel Development in Vietnam
Article on News Media

Singapore/Da Nang, Vietnam – February 11, 2026 – The Asia Sustainable Aviation Fuel Association (ASAFA) has initiated a strategic partnership with the Da Nang Innovation and Startup Support Center to accelerate sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) adoption and green economic development in Vietnam.

This consisted of two days of intensive discussions between ASAFA and the Da Nang Innovation and Startup Support Center (Department of Science and Technology). The partnership aims to position Da Nang as a leading hub for sustainable development through hosting Vietnam's first international forum dedicated to SAF adoption and deep decarbonization in the aviation sector.

Inaugural Forum Planned for May 2026

The collaboration will culminate in an international forum scheduled for May 2026 in Da Nang, bringing together policymakers, green economy investors, industry experts, and innovative solution providers to advance global sustainability goals while protecting Vietnam's ecological environment and building a stable green growth economy for the city.

This forum is expected to be Vietnam's first international platform specifically focused on innovation and policy development within the sustainable aviation fuel sector – an area attracting significant attention from the international community.

Strategic Collaboration Framework

Under the partnership agreement, ASAFA will lead technical content development and facilitate connections with international experts and industry stakeholders across the region. Local coordination will support engagement with Vietnam's domestic business ecosystem and government agencies.
The organizations will collaborate on organizing workshops, forums, and training programs focused on SAF and green aviation development throughout Vietnam and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
Stakeholder Engagement
As part of the working program, ASAFA delegations visited Da Nang International Airport and Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company (BSR) to exchange insights, share international best practices, and discuss innovation pathways for green transformation and sustainable industrial development related to SAF.

Gabriel Ho, Founder and Chief Sustainability Officer of ASAFA, emphasized the significance of this partnership: "Vietnam represents a critical market for sustainable aviation fuel development in Asia-Pacific. Through this collaboration with the Da Nang Innovation Center, we're creating concrete pathways for policy engagement, industry development, and knowledge transfer that will benefit the entire region's decarbonization efforts. This forum will serve as a catalyst for Vietnam's participation in the global SAF ecosystem."

The partnership aligns with global climate commitments and positions Da Nang as an emerging center for sustainable aviation innovation in Southeast Asia, marking ASAFA's continued expansion of engagement with government innovation centers and industrial stakeholders across the region.
