ASAFA CSO Gabriel Ho will be presenting the topic of “2025 SAF Outlook: Charting a Sustainable Path for Asia” at ISCC Plus & SAF Conference in Tokyo on 21st Janaury 2025.
He will explore the growing importance of SAF in decarbonizing Asia’s aviation sector. The region aims for SAF blends of 1-10% by 2030, with production expected to surpass 2-3 million tonnes per year by 2028. Key initiatives include Japan’s target of 10% SAF by 2030, South Korea’s 1% mandate starting in 2027, and Singapore’s use of passenger levies to fund SAF infrastructure. While challenges like feedstock constraints, fragmented regulations, and high costs remain, ASAFA is driving collaboration, policy alignment, and innovation to position Asia as a leader in the SAF industry.
