Honeywell adds Global Technology Leadership and Regional Advocacy to Scale Sustainable Aviation Fuel in the Region

SINGAPORE, 18 August 2025 – The Asian Sustainable Aviation Fuel Association (ASAFA) is pleased to announce that Honeywell has joined ASAFA as its newest member. Honeywell serves a broad range of industries with technologies to make operations safer, smarter, more efficient and secure. The company has a strong presence in Asia Pacific and is a pioneer of technologies needed to produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) at scale. This collaboration underscores Honeywell’s commitment to advancing the adoption and integration of SAF in the region.

With decades of experience in developing and licensing SAF production technologies, Honeywell has enabled the conversion of a wide range of feedstocks through multiple proven pathways. This expertise will be invaluable in promoting SAF and supporting the reduction of carbon emissions of air transportation in Asia.

In collaboration with ASAFA members, Honeywell will engage with industry stakeholders to raise awareness and accelerate SAF deployment across the region.

“ASAFA has done great work in building a strong community of SAF stakeholders and advocates, and Honeywell is pleased to join this distinguished organization,” said Tsui Tsui Young, Regional General Manager, Asia Pacific, Honeywell UOP. “We look forward to engaging with ASAFA members to help scale SAF deployment in the region. As one of the global SAF technology leaders, we believe this collaboration can help drive the next phase of market development and energy transformation for aviation in Asia.”

Honeywell UOP is a global leader in licensing and delivering process technologies, catalysts, and equipment across the petroleum refining, petrochemical, gas processing, hydrogen, and renewable fuels industries. Its proven and scalable SAF solutions include HEFA (Hydroprocessed Esters and Fatty Acids), Ethanol-to-Jet (ETJ), Methanol-to-Jet (MTJ), and Fischer–Tropsch (FT) pathways.

Fabrice Espinosa, CEO of ASAFA, added: “We are excited to welcome Honeywell to ASAFA. Honeywell UOP’s strong portfolio of SAF technologies, including HEFA, ETJ, and FT, can convert a wide range of feedstocks, such as biomass, CO₂, and hydrogen, into sustainable fuels. Their technical expertise and clear commitment to sustainable energy will be key to accelerating the decarbonization of aviation across Asia.”
