Neste joins ASAFA to advance SAF adoption in Asia-Pacific

Singapore, 26 February 2026 – Asia Sustainable Aviation Fuel Association (ASAFA) is pleased to welcome Neste, the world's leading producer of sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel, as its newest member.
Neste brings unparalleled expertise in renewable fuels production to ASAFA's mission of accelerating sustainable aviation fuel adoption across the Asia-Pacific region. Neste currently operates the world's largest renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) refinery in Singapore, with a production capability of up to 1 million tons of Neste MY Sustainable Aviation FuelTM—the largest single-site SAF production capacity globally.
“We are pleased to have Neste onboard as one of our members”, said Fabrice Espinosa, Founder & CEO of ASAFA. “As one of the global leaders in SAF production, along with its commitment to R&D, Neste is strategically positioned to support the growing SAF demand throughout the Asia-Pacific region.”
“ASAFA has been very active in promoting the need for SAF related policies in key markets that Neste is also active in, since its inception in 2024. Their approach on the need for enabling policies to drive further demand and investment in SAF in the Asia region aligns well with Neste’s,” said Steven Bartholomeusz, Head of Public and Regulatory Affairs Asia Pacific at Neste.
Neste's proprietary NEXBTL technology, refined over decades, enables the company to produce SAF from renewable waste and residue raw materials, such as used cooking oil and animal fat waste. This technology forms the foundation of Neste's integrated global production platform, with renewable fuels refineries operating across three continents in Finland, Singapore, the Netherlands and via a joint operation in California.
Neste’s SAF is already available at key airports across the Asia-Pacific region, including Singapore Changi Airport and Tokyo Narita International Airport, as well as major internationall hubs in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt. Leading airlines including Air France-KLM, Lufthansa, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Cathay Pacific, ANA, JAL and Singapore Airlines, as well as cargo carriers such as DHL Group and Amazon Air rely on Neste’s SAF to meet their decarbonization commitments.
Neste's participation in ASAFA aligns with the company's climate commitments to develop innovative solutions for the road transport and aviation sectors to help customers reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. . Neste continues to invest heavily in research and development, including developing new raw materials and technologies like lignocellulosics as well as novel vegetable oils from regenerative agriculture concepts to further diversify its renewable raw materials portfolio.
