Singapore, 19 February 2026 – The Asia Sustainable Aviation Fuel Association (ASAFA) is excited to announce the addition of Topsoe as its newest member. Topsoe is a leading global provider of advanced technology and solutions for the energy transition, specializing in sustainable fuels.
Topsoe's Commitment to Clean Fuels
With over 80 years of scientific innovation, Topsoe excels in providing advanced catalysts, process technology, and electrolysis solutions. These innovations enable the production of clean fuels, including Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), renewable diesel, e-fuels, hydrogen-based fuels, and low-carbon chemicals. All of these products are derived from renewable feedstocks and green hydrogen.
Fabrice Espinosa, CEO of ASAFA, expressed enthusiasm about Topsoe's membership. He stated, “We are pleased to welcome Topsoe as a member of our initiative to advance SAF production and adoption across Asia-Pacific. As a global leader in SAF technologies, Topsoe offers a comprehensive portfolio of solutions for HEFA, Alcohol-to-Jet, Fischer-Tropsch, and Power-to-Liquid pathways. These solutions enable the conversion of diverse feedstocks such as biomass, CO₂, and H2 into sustainable fuels. Their extensive expertise and commitment to global energy transition and sustainable mobility will be instrumental in driving progress toward decarbonizing aviation in the region.”
Advancing SAF in Asia-Pacific
Yassir Ghiyati, CCO at Topsoe, shared his thoughts on the partnership. He said, “We’re proud to join ASAFA and to advocate for SAF in APAC. Topsoe is fully committed to supporting the region, and we have the technologies ready to support all possible pathways to produce SAF. SAF is already introduced across the region, but we want to further push deployment to help decarbonize the region’s aviation sector.”
Topsoe's recent launch of a large-scale Solid Oxide Electrolyzer Cell (SOEC) manufacturing facility highlights its dedication to green hydrogen production. This facility has an annual capacity of 500 MW, with the option to scale further. This capability is crucial for enabling Power-to-X (PtX) fuel pathways, which are essential for aviation, maritime, and industrial decarbonization.
