Velocys Partners with ASAFA to Advance Proven Fischer–Tropsch Pathways for Asia’s SAF Future

Singapore, November 25, 2025 — The Asian Sustainable Aviation Fuel Association (ASAFA) is pleased to welcome Velocys, a global leader in Fischer–Tropsch (FT) technology for sustainable fuels, as its newest member.
Velocys joins ASAFA’s growing network of government, industry, and academic stakeholders working to accelerate the deployment of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) across the Asia-Pacific region.
With a proven record in converting biogenic and waste carbon into drop-in renewable fuels, Velocys brings more than two decades of real-world FT experience to the association. Its technology has been demonstrated in multiple international projects, including Japan’s first commercial flight powered by woody biomass-to-SAF, underscoring the company’s ability to bridge feedstock diversity with reliable, bankable performance.
“We are delighted to welcome Velocys to ASAFA,” said Fabrice Espinosa, CEO of ASAFA. “As a pioneer in Fischer–Tropsch technology with demonstrated sustainable fuel production from biomass and waste, Velocys will bring valuable expertise to our mission of accelerating aviation decarbonization in Asia.”
Velocys’ compact, modular reactors are enabling SAF developers and engineering, procurement, and constructions (EPC) partners worldwide to de-risk scale-up, enhance carbon efficiency, and meet the growing demand for certified renewable jet fuels aligned with regional carbon reduction targets.
“Asia is one of the most dynamic regions for SAF growth,” said Matthew Viergutz, CEO of Velocys. “We’re proud to join ASAFA’s collaborative platform and share our technical experience in Fischer–Tropsch synthesis. Projects in the region are maturing quickly. We strongly believe that SAF production in Asia is scalable, sustainable, and ready for market integration.”
Velocys’ participation in ASAFA further underscores its commitment to global SAF commercialization, complementing ongoing partnerships and demonstration projects in the Americas, Europe, and Japan.
